Follow along as I share my Stage Four, Terminal Breast Cancer Journey
In 2022, I was diagnosed with Breast Csncer and underwent a bilateral mastectomy 12/22. In 3/23, I finished radiation and thought I had breast cancer beat. Then while on vacation, 7/24, I had a backache that brought me into the emergency room. Three days later I was undergoing emergency back surgery because the cancer metastasized to my spine. Two rods, ten pins and five weeks of recovery later I moved to SC, and was met by a hurricane three days later. After a little time, Dr's in SC confirmed there was cancer in my spine, sternum, lung and ribs. My final diagnosis was stage four, terminal breast cancer.
After my move to SC and my diagnosis, I assumed health care and financial assistance were going to be provided without much effort. Boy -was I wrong. DENIAL after DENIAL letter and call left me frustrated and without basic necessities. I can no longer work, to provide for myself. I've been left to rely on donations from my family and friends to survive, and the agencies I've applied to for assistance have used these donations to deny me again and again.
I will not be applying for assistance in SC anymore. Although, I love my new rental, the stress I've endured trying to receive Medicaid and SNAP Benefits just isn't worth it. I might have to move. And don't get me started about the process to receive Federal SSI Disability. It's such a humbling situation to be told you will no longer be able to provide for yourself, and no help will be provided to you. At this point, I'm left to rely on my family and friends to live and enjoy my final days.
Your support and contributions will enable me to live my life and improve my conditions. Your generous donation will fund MY LIFE!
